Essex resident George says he has been left disillusioned

An audience member at the Farage at Large show in Witham, Essex, drew rapturous applause as he launched a passionate rant about the “betrayal” of the British youth.

Essex resident George questioned Farage over when the Government opted to “prioritise” its treatment of asylum seekers over its own citizens.

Thousands of asylum seekers have crossed the English Channel this year, with many being housed in luxury hotels, as seen in Essex, the area where Farage at Large was taking place, with Chelmsford's "most sought after" apartment block being set aside for migrants.

The hotels, costing the UK taxpayer £6 million a day, are said to be housing more than 51,000 asylum seekers.

George told Farage that he is growing increasingly despondent about the state of the country, claiming he feels as though he has been sidelined in favour of those entering it.

“As a young man, I was born in this country, I’ve lived here all my life, but I feel betrayed by it”, he said.

“This country houses and funds small boat migrants.

“They’re put up in luxury hotels, while young people like myself have to scrape for every opportunity we get.

“What I want to know is, when did this country decide ‘we’re going to choose migrants over our own youth?’”

George’s comments were met with a rapturous applause from the Farage at Large crowd in Essex, with cries of “well said!”

GB News’ Farage went on to comment about the lack of willingness to challenge the trend, claiming people are often dubbed “racist” for doing so, as seen in his own case when he was "debanked" by Coutts over his political views.

“There is a completely new mindset which has taken hold”, he said.

“It’s deeply embedded in much of our media, it’s deeply embedded in our Parliament, it seems to be even more deeply embedded in our courts.

“It’s the concept that putting your own people first is small-minded, petty and verging on racism.

“I’m sick of this narrative now of how b***dy awful we are as a country, how ghastly our history is.

“Compare us with Europe and the rest of the world, I think we are generally the most easy going, tolerant and nice people you could ever meet anywhere in the world.”

The former Brexit Party leader went onto praise George for highlighting what he views as an injustice.

“George, one thing we hate is unfairness”, he said.

“And you’ve put your finger on something deeply unfair, thank you.”
